We spent two days documenting McGill University’s Indigenous Field Studies program in Kahnawà:ke. The course brings students out of the classroom and into the community to learn directly from Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Elders and knowledge keepers, encouraging a deeper understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and ways of knowing through lived experience.
