Producing video content for music brands is always a fun assignment, and nothing gets us out of bed faster than the prospect of a trip to LA, working alongside top-tier session players.

Two world-class drummers, two incredible drum kits, a bassist and a keys player… and a world of musical possibility. For this project with Alesis Drums (inMusic Brands), we were tasked with producing a documentary-style video (and a suite of supporting social content), showcasing the phenomenal  sonic capabilities of the Alesis Strata Core electronic kit.

We teamed up with an experienced crew which included a lighting and grip department, three videographers, DIT, and an audio engineer.​​ While rolling multiple cameras, we also had to capture all the audio from the session. Discreet instrument tracks to be mixed late on. ​

The resulting film captures the authentic energy of the recording session. Four top-notch musicians getting together in a room and banging out musical ideas spanning multiple styles and genres. The hardest part was deciding what to leave out of the edit, the upshot being we were left with a load unused material that could be packaged up into short capsules for social media.
