We took a trip down to Columbus, Ohio to visit the phenomenally talented sorceress of synths, Lisa Bella Donna. Our client, AIR Music Technology (inMusic Brands) tasked us with producing a short documentary demonstrating the sonic capabilities of their new software synth, TimewARP 2600, a software emulation of the legendary ARP2600 synthesizer developed in the early 70s by Alan R. Pearlman.

The objective was primarily to convey the faithfulness with which the software emulates the original hardware. Leveraging Lisa’s outstanding musical talent, over the course of two days we recorded multiple performances using two hardware ARP2600s and the TimewARP2600 software side-by-side, demonstrating the versatility and sonic precision of the software emulation, to produce soaring, multi-dimensional synth arrangements with Lisa’s uniquely powerful musical style.
